I am alive, honest!

There has been a conspicuous lack of activity on these here pages and I fear that my lone reader may have departed to leave me typing to accidental tourists sent by Google in the hope of learning something slightly interesting.

Plenty has happened to us in these last few months, some good but most a royal pain in the arse. I’m just waiting for our big dog to decide to eat something important, like my car or the dishwasher. Everything else seems to have happened this year, sometimes twice!

I quit smoking a month or so back and R has had her shoulder fixed by Marshfield Clinic’s best mechanic, so we have our health and there is no sign of the dreaded beer allergy.

I should try to type here instead of all the different social media things that I have been active on. If you ever want to find me on a social networking app’ there is every chance that I am already there. Just search for Boogenstein and give me a shout.

Got something to say?

Server change

Thanks to the great people at Joyent, my hosting plan has been upgraded. I have moved the entire site to a new server that is running Solaris rather than the old BSD. The whole site is here now but I am having a few issues with the database move, mostly due to a change in the character encoding. I am sorry that some of the images are showing in the wrong places and many of the links to the left are missing. This will be addressed shortly, probably after our return from Great Britain.

Thanks for 6 years of bliss!

On this day, a mere 6 years ago, I married Robin. It was a simple ceremony in our backyard, hosted by a nice lady dressed like Bat-Woman. She asked me the usual “Do you, Adrian, take….” to which I replied “Yes.” Robin followed suit so neither of us actually ever said “I do.”

Thanks, Robin, you have given me the best 6 years of my life so far.

Here’s to many, many more!

Cheers.

Jerry Falwell is worm food!

When I first heard on Public Radio about the death of Jerry Falwell, my initial concern was for the well-being of the other Spice Girls! I was never a huge fan of theirs and thought both their lyrics and movie to be somewhat retarded and not an ideal image for my country to be giving out to the Planet. That said, they were kinda fun compared to much of today’s garbage. Now I know better about the true person behind the coffin lid and am relieved that the tears won’t ruin Victoria’s mascara! From what I have heard, his death came later than most had hoped and will come as a blessing for the legions of Teletubbies fans.
