04/14/2003: "Blimey.....What a weekend that was! Volume One"

The World's largest trivia game was held for the 34th time this weekend in Stevens Point Wisconsin. Robin has been playing for many years, this was my second. It runs for 54 hours, starting at 6pm Friday and finishing at Midnight Sunday. Our team, 'YAARGH! A TRIBUTE TO WELL HUNGARIANS', came in 8th out of nearly 500 teams! It was one long party with the drinks and food flowing constantly to a backdrop of extremely hard questions. It was almost as if the organizers had added a couple of British music questions just for me. A photo of Buster Bloodvessel had my American colleagues scratching their heads but made me feel usefull as did a brief snippet of London Calling in the music round. May I say thanks to all concerned, especially J.D. and his wife for their hospitality and Anne Wally for giving me a much needed haircut. Shell-shocked and light-headed, I salute you all!
On top of all that, when we got home we found a large Union Jack flying proudly from our side porch! Thanks to Beth and Mike for bringing some colour to the area and also raising the values of all our neighbour's houses!

It will show all the content so if you are using IE for Win' you'll just be missing some clever layouts and effects.
